Historic Steam Roller – Modeling and Production

• • At the request of the Mining Museum in Rožňava, we conducted a field trip to perform 3D scanning of a historic steam roller exhibit. This is the third oldest steam roller in the world, a unique global rarity that deserves attention.
  • We processed the digital data and prepared an optimized 1:100 scale model, which consists of the roller itself and is disassemblable, mounted on a base with a plaque.
  • The roller was made using SLS technology from industrial PA12 material due to its high geometric complexity.
  • The base and plaque were produced using FDM technology from PLA material.
  • From prototype approval, we were able to produce 40 pieces within 3 working days.
